If you're new to CBD and are using the Reverie Evening Supplement to help with sleep, here is a short guide on what to expect and best practices for using it.
Reverie is designed to assist you in winding down and relaxing in 2 different ways. First, the melatonin, CBD and sleep-promoting herbs are going to relax your body and help you fall sleep. Second, by taking Reverie as a nightly tincture, over time the CBD will help to balance your endocannabinoid system, which many people find helps their sleep/wake cycles and encourages more regular, restful sleep.
1. Rethink Your Sleep Solutions
It’s best not to look at Reverie like a pharmaceutical sleep aid - like a NyQuil or an Ambien - because it’s much more gentle than that. It’s designed to be a lifestyle product that is gentle enough for everyday use and helps you to create and more naturally fall into healthy sleep patterns and rhythms. Regular nightly use (as well as great sleep routines, like our evening routine) will help your body know it’s time to sleep and stay asleep.
We recommend trying it for at least 30 days, which is about how long it takes to start noticing the effects of CBD in your system. After about 30 days of using it you’ll start to see more the effects of daily CBD, hopefully regular, more restful, sleep but also other benefits of balancing the endocannabinoid system, like better mood, less anxiety, and less inflammation.
2. Use it Daily
We recommend taking 0.5 - 1ml daily about 2 hours before bedtime. This will help you relax for the evening and settle into sleep. Then, we recommend that you keep it on your nightstand in case of a nighttime wakeup. If you have a middle of the night wakeup, try a 0.5ml dose and relax - it will often help you get right back to sleep.
3. Incorporate Mindfulness
CBD is a wonderful way to help your body restore balance and find its natural, regular rhythms. It's also helpful for calming and settling into sleep, making it a perfect nightly supplement. However, sleep is a tricky beast and does require a mind, body, soul approach.
