Does CBD work?

With CBD products flooding the market, many people feel a lot of skepticism - what's the difference between these products? Does CBD work? Will CBD even work for me? Is CBD just a placebo effect?

Although formal studies on CBD and its impact on the body is still in its infancy, mountains of anecdotal evidence suggest that many consumers are finding increased quality of life by adding CBD to their lifestyle.

Is CBD safe?

A 2018 report by the World Health Organization states that "while the number of studies is limited, the evidence from well controlled human experimental research indicates that CBD is not associated with abuse potential." Additionally, "across a number of controlled and open label trials CBD of the potential therapeutic effects of CBD it is generally well tolerated, with a good safety profile."

The most important thing to remember when it comes to the safety of CBD is that it is not currently a regulated product, so you need to do your due diligence when it comes to verifying label claims. In 2019, the FDA tested 41 cosmetic products marketed containing CBD. Of these, only 14 specified the amount of CBD that were contained in their products. Of these 14 products, 8 contained "less than 80% of the CBD amount indicated" according to the FDA's report. Only four of the 14 products contained within 20% of the CBD amount listed, and two products had more than 120% of the CBD listed. In 68 cosmetics that claimed to contain hemp oils, testing revealed that they "did not contain any measurable cannabinoids." Is CBD legal?

Yes, the 2018 Farm Bill legalized industrial hemp that contains less than 0.3% THC, the psychoactive component of marijuana. If a CBD product is sourced from the marijuana plant, it needs to be licensed and sold through a legal marijuana dispensary. If you are in a state that prohibits the purchase of CBD, Jihi will not allow you to move forward with your order in our shopping cart.

You can rest assured that our activated hemp extract is sourced and extracted above and beyond industry standards by an ISO 9001 certified CBD manufacturer, utilizing best practices for clean and potent extraction, ensuring potency without any harmful residues. The hemp plants utilized are U.S. grown and rigorously tested to ensure the highest standards of potency and purity, free of the harmful chemicals, solvents, heavy metals and pesticides found in hemp sourced from overseas.
